The first track is a strong and somewhat sad tango led by violins and accordion mostly (with a small trumpet and sax solo), and so far is my most favorite track. I wonder if also this is about leaving for America. The second track fits to this one well, has trot flavors but more the mood of a sad walzing tango. As a trot-song "Traveller's Dream" is a pretty example of its genre and very well sung. It has some spoken word in it. Lyrics you can find further on this page.

꿈에 본 내고향 - 한정무

이 노래가 만들어진 것은 1943년으로 악극 "진주라 천리길"의 극작가이기도 한

박두환이 작사하고 김기태가 작곡하여 문일화가 무대에서 부른 노래.

이 노래는 정작 1951년 1.4 후퇴 이후 이북동포들이 대거 남하하면서 시류와 맞아 떨어져

입에서 입으로 불리면서 다시 큰 인기를 끈다.

이 노래를 무대에서 부른 것은 문일화이지만,

레코드로 발표하 것은 1.4 후퇴 피난민 대열에 끼어 함경북도 나진에서 단신 월남한 한정무로,

레코드 바늘을 팔다 도미도레코드사를 만들고 작곡에 열중하던 한복남과 친구 사이로 가깝게

지내던 추석이 가가운 어느날 둘이 부산의 어느 방파제를 걷는데 누군가 술에 취해 부르는 "꿈에 본 내 고향"이

들려왔고, 휘영청 밝은 추석 달과 함께 망향의 서러움이 북받쳐 향수에 젖어었던 한복남이 한정무에게

"한형, 저 노래 아직 취입이 안됐지. 이번에 취입해 보면 어떨까.

추석이라 그런지 가슴이 미어지는 구먼...." 이렇게 해서 무대에서 불리던 이 노래는 먼저 인기를 얻은 후

1954년 음반으로 나오고 공전의 히트를 하게 된다.

식민지 치하를 떠냐야했던 망향의 그리움은

공산 치하를 벗어나 남으로 내려와아했던 망향의 그리움으로 치환되었으니

고향을 버리고 떠냐야하는 서러움과 고달픔은 세대를 이어 유전하는 것이었다.

이 노래의 질긴 생명처럼 이 나라 이 겨레의 운명이 어찌 이다지도 얄궂단 말인가.

It was Mun Ilhwa who sang this song on stage. The record was announced as coming fro a number of South Korean refugees originally coming from Najin, North Hamgyong Province, while in retreat. One day when Chuseok was closed, they walked all the way to Busan, and someone drunk sang "My Hometown in Dreams" "Hyung, that song hasn't been become known yet. How about singing it this time? This song, was thus first sung on stage, where it became popular. In 1954 it was recorded on his first album, making it a hit record.

The longing of mangyang that had to leave the colony was replaced by the longing of mangyang that had come out of communism. The sorrow and anguish of having to leave the hometown were inherited from generation to generation. Like the tough life of this song, what is the fate of this nation?

◇ 1951년, 부산에서 두각을 나타내기 시작한 도레미레코드사에서 한정무(韓正茂)가 불러 히트한 곡으로, 작사자 박두환(朴斗煥)은 '진주라 천리길' '울며 헤진 부산항'과 영화 <피는 살아 있다>의 작가이기도 하다. 가수 한정무는 '대동강 달밤(형석기 작곡)'도 히트시킨 바 있으며, 노래뿐만 아니라 편곡에도 조예를 가지고 있었으나 아깝게도 1960년, 교통사고로 비명에 숨지게 되어 '가수협회'에서 한정무 추모공연을 열어 생활비를 미망인에게 전달한 바 있다고 한다. 6,25 로 많은 북한출신 피난민들이 부산에 내려 와 있을 때 그들로 하여금 향수를 불러 일으키게 한 노래이다. 민족분단의 비극과 함께 영원히 잊지 못할 노래 중의 한 곡이다. <꿈에 본 내 고향>은 원래 6ㆍ25 이전 한 악극의 주제가로 송달협이 먼저 불렀다고도 한다. 역시 고향이 이북인 그는 한정무가 취입한 레코드가 1954년 무렵 도미도레코드사에서 나온 후에도 이 노래를 불러 더욱 유행하게 했다. [미지북스/한국가요사 ②]

이 노래는 원래 韓正茂(한정무)가 불렀으나 金南日(김남일)이란 가수도 함께 취입하였다는데 노래의 애절성이란 측면에서는 韓正茂의 창법이 훨씬 돋보였다. 하지만 이 노래가 특별히 대중의 인기를 얻게 된 배경에는 宋達協(송달협)이 무대가수로서 애를 쓴 노력 덕분이었다고 할 수 있는데 한정무가 불러서 히트하기 직전 송달협이 이미 악극단의 무대에서 이 노래를 매우 절절하게 불러서 장안의 화제를 모았다는 것이다.

가수 한정무는 원래 북한출신의 가수로 광복 전 빅터 레코드에서 "대동강 달밤"(오준희 작사, 형석기 작곡)이란 노래를 취입한 경력이 있었다. 그가 한국 전쟁의 와중에서 월남한 뒤, 부산으로 피란 내려와서 1951년에 이 노래를 취입하게 되었다. <꿈에 본 내 고향>은 1.4후퇴 때 평양에서 남하해 온 가수 한정무가 자기 신세를 한탄이나 하듯이 노래했다. 어떤 면에서 본다면 이 노래는 한정무 자신의 기막힌 넋두리였으므로 더욱 절절하게 이 노래를 부를 수 있었을 것이다. 그러나 가수 한정무는 이 노래를 취입한 지 9년 뒤인 1960년 안타깝게도 교통사고로 세상을 떠나고 말았다.

The song was originally sung by Han Jeong-moo, but also by 金南日 (Kim Nam-il). The song's generosity was even more prominent. However, the background of the song's popularity was due to the efforts of Song (Songdalup) as a stage singer.

Singer Han Jung-moo was originally a North Korean singer who had a song called "Daedong River Moon Night" (composed by Oh Jun-hee, composed by Hyeongseokki) on Victor Records before the independence.
