"This film music album is a light but entertaining album with studio band based arrangements, and a bit Italian style at times. There has been good attention to add several layers of arrangements with relaxed picking guitars, organ, electric guitars, analogue keyboards and organ, reed instruments and sax and a breathy female vocalist, who besides a few real songs sings a nanana song on one track. Here and there are funky elements too, including some brass. (One of the tracks sounds like a known Herman Van Veen song). As short tracks for entertainment in a movie soundtrack this is really enjoyable for its typical late 60s, early 70s style approach."
It is in fact a fine musical concept to listen to, with nice popular songs, and extra arrangements by organ, bass and drums and sparse brass instruments and a bit of fuzz / acoustic guitar / keyboards (2). Noted was the participation of a famous jazz saxophonist and arranger, Koh Seong-jo, who also has some nice jazz solos (with organ and guitar) (6). The tracks develop like a musical concept with nice instrumental intermezzos on keyboard lead (7). The 8th track is funkier. There’s also a light track with dual vocals and Moog sounds with band (9). Track 10 is a trot song with extra jazzy sax and organ textures, fitting to the rest of the soundtrack. This is followed by the second rewarding funky instrumental with jazzy arrangements on trumpets and drum & bass & organ and a bit of wahwah guitar. The next instrumental on keyboards, acoustic guitar and trumpets, glockenspiel is another very sweet intermezzo (it is the track that reminded me of a Herman Van Veen track). Track 12 is the second and uplifting rather funny track with Moog sounds and percussion / bass. The last track is a late night sax solo with acoustic guitar pickings with organ textures.

1977년 9월부터 겨울까지 "겨울 여자"가 바람을 일으킨다. 개봉관 단성사에서만 133일간 58만여 명을 홀린다.

5년 후 김호선 감독은 속편을 찍는데 "속 겨울 여자"도 역시 큰 관심을 끌었다.

1970년대 최고 히트 영화 ‘겨울여자’의 사운드트랙이 40년 만에 처음 LP레코드로 복각됐다.
23일 출시되는 ‘겨울여자’ LP엔 김세화가 부른 ‘눈물로 쓴 편지’, 이영식 김세화의 듀엣곡 ‘겨울 이야기’를 비롯해 원본 음반에 담긴 모든 곡이 음질 보정을 통해 수록됐다.
조해일의 원작 소설을 김승옥이 각색하고 김호선 감독이 연출한 ‘겨울여자’는 1977년 개봉해 서울 단성사 한곳에서만 관객 58만 명을 동원하며 ‘별들의 고향’(46만 명·1974년)을 제치고 역대 최다 관객 기록을 세웠다. 한국 영화 50만 관객 시대의 개막이었다.
당시 관객 대기 줄이 종로3가 단성사 앞부터 비원 앞까지 2km 가까이 늘어서 화제가 됐다. 이 기록은 무려 13년 후에야 임권택 감독의 ‘장군의 아들’(67만 명)로 깨졌다.

‘겨울여자’는 개봉 당시 통속적 발라드에 재즈 색채를 병치한 독특한 영화음악으로도 주목받았다. 재즈 색소포니스트이자 훗날 KBS관현악단 지휘자로 활약한 고 정성조 씨가 전곡을 작곡했다. A, B면에 각각 파트 A∼D, 파트 E∼H로 4곡씩 나눠 수록된 경음악 주제 모음곡 ‘겨울여자’는 음반의 백미다. 건반과 관악이 교차하는 재즈퓨전 연주가 긴장과 이완, 서정을 오간다.
경음악과 노래의 두 가지 버전으로 몽환적인 겨울 서정을 담은 ‘겨울사랑’ 역시 인상적인 곡이다. ‘봄에도 우린 겨울을 말했죠/우리들의 겨울은 봄속에도 남아있다고’라는 노랫말과 선율이 유명한 흥겨운 곡 ‘겨울이야기’도 당시 히트했다.
이 작품은 1975년 데뷔한 장미희를 일약 톱스타로 만들었다. 이 영화 이후 그는 정윤희 유지인과 함께 1970, 80년대 여배우 3인방 시대를 열었다. 김호선 감독은 앞서 ‘영자의 전성시대’를 성공시켰고 장미희와 1991년 ‘사의 찬미’에서 다시 호흡을 맞춰 각종 영화제 트로피를 휩쓸었다.
음반은 2012년 CD로 한 차례 재발매된 적이 있지만 LP레코드 형태로 재발매되는 것은 이번이 처음이다.

Winter Woman' Soundtrack Revives into LP after 40 Years

The soundtrack of the hit movie "Winter Woman" in the 1970s was first reprinted as an LP record after 40 years.
All songs included in the original album, including 'Written in Tears' by Kim Se-hwa,' Young Woman's duet song 'Winter Story', released on the 23rd, 'Winter Woman' LP.
"Winter Woman" was adapted by Kim Seung-ok and directed by Kim Ho-sun, adapted the original novel of Jo Hae-il, that was released in 1977. It set the maximum audience record. During the opening of the Korean film there were 500,000 audience visitors.
At that time, the waiting line of the audience became a hot topic as the line of Jongno-ga lined up in front of Danseongsa Temple in front of Biwon. Only thirteen years later, this record was broken by director Lim Kwon-taek's “Son of Generals” (670,000).
At the time of its release, 'Winter Woman' was also noticed as a unique film music juxtaposing jazz color with popular ballads. The song was written by Koh Seong-jo, a jazz saxophonist and later KBS Orchestra conductor. "Winter Woman" is a light-themed suite that contains four songs on parts A and B and parts E to H, respectively, is the highlight of the album. The jazz fusion performance, where the keyboard and Gwanak intersect, moves between tension, relaxation and lyricism.
'Love in Winter', a dreamy winter lyric with two versions of light music and song, is also impressive. The song "Winter Story," a song that sang "In spring, we talked about winter / our winter stays in spring," was also a hit.
This work made Roh-hee, who made his debut in 1975, as a top star. After this film, he and Jung Yoon-hee maintained the actress's three-person era in the 1970s and '80s. Director Kim Ho-sun had succeeded in “Spirit of Young's Spirit” and revived with Roh Hee-hee in “Samin's Praise” in 1991 and swept various film festival trophies.
The album was once re-released on CD in 2012, but this is the first time that it has been re-released in the form of an LP record.

2008년 최종 부도를 맞고 폐쇄된 종로 3가의 극장 '단성사'. 흔히 이곳을 한국 영화의 요람, 혹은 역사라고 말합니다. 1907년 동대문의 거상들에 의해 개관한 단성사는 라이벌이었던 우미관이 6.25 전쟁으로 인해 잿더미가 되자 종로의 '터줏대감'으로 자리잡게 됩니다. 이후 경쟁 관계에 있던 퇴계로 대한극장은 '70밀리 시네마스코프'를 내세워 스케일 큰 영화를 주로 상영했으며 광화문 네 거리에 있던 국제극장은 인근 덕수궁 담길을 걷는 연인들을 겨냥한 로맨틱 무비를 많이 틀었지요. 반면 단성사는 서부 영화와 액션물에 주력했습니다. 이는 당시 극장 주위가 소위 '주먹'들의 근거지였으며 '종삼'으로 불렸던 유곽이 지척에 있었다는 사실과 무관하지 않습니다.
그러한 단성사는 77년, 기존 이미지를 바꿈은 물론 엄청난 '대박'이 되는 문제작 '겨울 여자' 간판을 올립니다. 작가 조해일의 신문 연재 소설을 스크린에 옮긴 이 영화는 '영자의 전성시대'(1975)로 흥행 감독이 된 김호선의 네 번째 작품인데요. 무려 100일 동안 전회 매진을 기록했습니다. 77년 추석 특선 프로로 상영을 시작해 해를 넘겨 구정 특선 프로로 이어졌으며 3월이 되어서야 막을 내렸지요. 총 관객 수는 '별들의 고향' 46만 명 기록을 넘어서는 58만 명. 당시 600만 명이었던 서울 사람 10명 중 한 명이 단성사를 찾았다고 할 수 있습니다. 종로 3가 극장에서 비원 앞까지 장장 2,000m나 줄을 이었던 장사진. 참 대단했지요. 이 기록은 역시 단성사에서 상영돼 67만 명을 모은 임권택 감독의 90년 작품 '장군의 아들'이 있기까지 13년 동안 깨지지 않았습니다.
'겨울 여자'는 당대 최고의 배우인 신성일과 신인이었던 장미희가 열연한 영화입니다. 순수하면서도 성적으로 개방된 여자 주인공이 여러 남자들을 거치면서 기성 윤리관과 육체적 속박에서 해방된다는 파격적 내용인데요. 주인공 '이화'라는 캐릭터는 '청순한 여인의 얼굴을 가진 탕녀'면서 '애인과 어머니의 경계를 넘나드는 다면적 여성'입니다. 장미희는 75년 TBC(동양방송) 특채 탤런트로 뽑힌 이듬해 박태원 감독의 영화 '성춘향전' 공채에서 276 대 1의 경쟁을 뚫고 춘향 역에 발탁돼 스크린 데뷔했으나 빛을 못 보고 있다가 '겨울 여자'로 일약 톱스타가 됩니다.
"여고 졸업을 앞둔 이화는 자신을 짝사랑하던 부잣집 아들 요섭(신광일)이 자살하는 사건을 겪는다. 이 충격적인 경험 이후 그녀는 자신을 필요로 하는 사람에게 헌신하겠다는 결심을 한다. 대학에 입학한 이화는 운동권 학생 석기(김추련)를 만나 아낌없이 사랑하지만 그도 교통사고로 죽고 만다. 이후 이화는 가정 파탄으로 절망에 빠져 있는 고등학교 은사 허민(신성일)을 만난다. 그녀는 헌신적인 사랑으로 허민의 남성성과 삶에 대한 의욕을 되찾아 주고 그를 아내와 재결합시킨다. 그런 후 특수학교 선생님으로 봉사하고자 떠난다."
영화 속에는 베르디 오페라 '나부코' 중 '히브리 노예들의 합창'이 삽입돼 많은 사랑을 받았고요. 가수 김세화가 부른 '겨울 이야기', '눈물로 쓴 편지' 같은 노래도 큰 인기를 얻었습니다.

Danseongsa, a theater in Jongno 3-ga, closed in 2008 after its final bankruptcy. This place is often called the cradle or history of Korean cinema. Opened by the colossal figures of Dongdaemun in 1907, Danseongsa is settled as the "Turkham" of Jongno when rival Woomi-gwan became ashes from the Korean War. Since then, the Korean Theater has been running large-scale films with 70mm cinemascopes. The International Theater, located on four streets of Gwanghwamun, has played many romantic movies aimed at lovers walking along the nearby Deoksugung Palace. Dan Sungsa, on the other hand, focused on western movies and action. This is irrelevant to the fact that the theater around that time was the base of the so-called 'fist' and that there was a well-known castle called 'Jongsam'.
Danseongsa, in 1977, not only replaces the existing image, but also raises the sign of 'Winter Woman', which became a huge 'big hit'. This film, which features a novel by Cho Hae-il's newspaper series, is the fourth film by Kim Ho-sun, who became a hit director in "The Great Age of English" (1975). Last sold out for 100 days. It started running as a Chuseok specialty program in 1977 and passed over the year to a Chinese New Year specialty program. It wasn't until March. The total audience number was 580,000, exceeding 460,000 records of 'Hometown of Stars'. One out of every ten people in Seoul, who were 6 million at the time, came to Danseongsa Temple. There is a long-standing photo of the 2,000m long crowd line from Jongno-3ga Theater to Biwon. It was amazing. This record was not broken for 13 years until the 90-year film, "Son of the General"' by Im Kwon-taek, which was also screened at Danseongsa.
'Winter Woman' is a film featuring Shin Sung-il, the best actor of the time, and Rose Hee, a rookie. It is an unprecedented content that a pure and sexually open female hero is freed from established ethics and physical bondage through various men. The main character 'Ewha' is a prostitute with a pure woman's face and 'a multifaceted woman crossing the border between her lover and her mother'. In the following year, Roh Hee-hee was selected as a TBC (Tongyang Broadcasting) specialty talent in the following year. It becomes an unrivaled top star.
"Ewha, who is about to graduate from high school, experiences a suicide by her beloved rich son Yoseob (Shin Kwang-il). He meets student Seok-ki (Kim Chu-ryeon) and loves generously, but he also dies in a car accident. Restores him, reunites him with his wife, and leaves to serve as a special school teacher. "
In the movie, the chorus of the Hebrew slaves of Verdi Opera Nabucco was loved. Songs such as 'Winter Story' and 'Tear Letters' sung by singer Kim Se-hwa also gained popularity.

고 정성조 선생의 도시적 분위기의 세련된 재즈선율과 겨울 시즌이 만난 고품격 크로스오버의 결정체.
지금도 각종 시상식에서 수상 소감에 관용 어구처럼 회자되고 여러 매체를 통해 풍자되고 희화되는 '여러분 정말 아름다운 밤이에요'를 기억할거다. 생방송으로 전국으로 전파되는 영화제 시상식에서 수상소감을 전하는 배우 장미희 선생(이하 장미희)의 입에서 천연덕스럽게 나온 감수성 풍부한 이 한마디는 전 국민에게 실로 우아하고 환상적인 밤을 선사하였다.
장미희는 1975년 TBC를 통해 데뷔하여 2년 만에 '겨울여자'로 큰 성공을 거두며 화려하게 등장했다. 그 후 정윤희씨, 유지인씨와 함께 여배우 신 트로이카 시대를 열며 70년대~80년대를 풍미하였다. 승승장구하던 그녀는 마침내 1991년 영화 '사의 찬미'를 통해 각종영화제를 휩쓸며 그녀의 연기 인생에 방점을 찍으며 대배우로 거듭나게 되는데, 여기서 김호선 감독(이하 김호선)과의 인연도 빼놓을 수 없다.
김호선은 1974년 '환녀'로 감독 데뷰한 후 '영자의 전성시대'와 '겨울여자'의 연이은 성공으로 충무로 대표 흥행 감독으로 자리매김하며 이장호 감독(이하 이장호)와 함께 70년대, 80년대 한국영화를 이끌었다. 1981년 장미희와의 두 번째 작품 '세 번은 짧게 세 번은 길게'를 발표하며 다시 한 번 그녀와의 각별한 우정을 과시한다. 그리고 그로부터 10년후 두 사람은 '사의 찬미'에서 세 번째 호흡을 맞추며 또다시 화려한 부활을 한다. 김호선은 80년대 중반부터 이렇다 할 흥행작을 내놓지 못하고 잠시 주춤한 상황이었고, 장미희 역시 약 5년간 브라운관을 떠나 프랑스와 미국 유학을 다녀와 활동을 재개한 지 얼마 되지 않는 등, 두 사람에게 꼭 필요한 시기에, 중요한 길목에서 만나 작품성과 흥행 모두를 잡으며, 두 사람 모두에게 최고작이 된 역작을 탄생시킨 것이었다.
'겨울여자'는 조해일 작가(이하 조해일) 원작의 동명소설을 1977년 영화화한 것이다. 이미 원작소설이 10만부 이상 팔려나간 베스트셀러라 흥행은 어느 정도 예고되어 있었지만, 연일 매진 행진과 영화를 보기 위해 극장 앞 수백 미터까지 줄 선 관람객들로 화제를 불러오는 대성공을 거두며 서울관객 기준 59만 명에 육박하는 신기록을 세웠고 이 대기록은 13년 후에야 깨진다. '별들의 고향'으로 시작된 호스티스 영화들이 사랑에 상처받은 여주인공의 비극적 결말을 그렸다면, '겨울여자'는 그 이전 작들과는 판이한 여성상을 그렸다. 장미희가 연기한 이화는 자신의 잘못 아닌 잘못으로 기이했던 첫사랑을 잃은 후 성적인 면에서 능동적인 태도를 보이며 헌신적인 사랑을 추구하지만 독신주의를 표방한 그녀의 결혼관은 왠지 모순적이다. 가부장제는 곧 국가권력으로 비유되는 시대에 그 제도 안에 있는 듯싶지만, 그 제도를 또 정면으로 부정하기 때문이다. 이화는 요부적인 관능미와 천진난만한 청순미가 공존하는, 일찍이 한국영화에는 없었던 새로운 캐릭터이다. 도시적이면서 한국적인 미인형의 장미희였기에 완성된 캐릭터이고 그녀의 출세작이 된 것은 우연이 아니다.
고 정성조 선생(이하 정성조)는 대한민국의 대표적인 재즈 색소폰 연주자였다. 고교시절 미8군 무대를 통해 데뷰했고 대학재학 중 '정성조 모던재즈 콰르텟'으로 각종대회에 참가하다 졸업 후 '정성조와 그 메신저스'를 결성하여 본격적인 활동을 한다. 당시 그의 음악은 정통재즈보다는 팝적인 느낌이 가미된 퓨젼재즈에 가깝다. 그래서 미국의 밴드 Chicago나 Blood Sweat & Tears의 사운드가 느껴진다. 그룹 활동 중 찾아온 영화음악 참여 제의는 주류음악계로 진출할 수 있는 절호의 기회였다. 그렇게 하여 발표된 것이 1974년 영화 '어제 내린 비'의 OST였다. 윤형주씨가 불러 크게 히트한 동명 주제가 덕분에 정성조도 유명세를 타게 되고 그 이듬해 영자의 전성시대 OST로 김호선과 인연을 맺고 1977년 겨울여자 OST로 영화음악계에서 입지를 단단히 굳혔다. 그 후에도 영화음악 뿐 아니라 대중가요계와 재즈계 그리고 클래식음악계를 넘나들며 왕성한 활동을 했는데 캐나다 출신 거장 David Foster를 연상시킨다. 안타깝게도 2014년 암으로 별세하였다.
별들의 고향 OST를 시작으로 독립된 음반으로서의 역할을 하게 된 영화음악은 겨울여자 OST에 와서 한층 성숙해진 느낌이다. 정성조가 전곡을 작곡했으며, 멜로디 라인에 치중한 그의 작곡 능력을 화려하게 수놓았다. 전체적으로 도시적 분위기의 세련미가 느껴진다. 그의 연주는 간결하지만 적시, 적소에 감정이입을 통해 효과를 극대화한 것이 특징이다. 세 개의 주요테마를 변주해서 사용했고 원작 소설가 조해일과 각본가 김승옥씨가 작사에 참여하여 주제의 통일성과 함께 곡의 완성도를 더했다. 노래를 부른 김세화씨(이하 김세화)와 이숙씨(이하 이숙)은 가창력을 유감없이 발휘하였고 나머지 곡들은 영화 장면에 맞춰 작곡된 곡들로 채워져 있다.
1면 첫 곡 눈물로 쓴 편지는 본 작의 대표곡이다. 청아한 음색의 김세화의 매력을 느낄 수 있다. 주요테마 중 첫 번째 테마이다. 겨울노래는 김세화의 부드러우면서도 힘이 느껴지는 목소리와 세련된 편곡이 어우러진 곡이다. 주요테마 중 두 번째 테마인 겨울사랑A는 김세화의 아름다운 스캣과 정성조의 감미로운 연주가 서로 대화하는 듯 한 착각을 불러일으키는 명연으로 본 작 최고의 백미가 아닌 가 한다. 겨울사랑B는 스산한 겨울날을 뜨거운 사랑으로 녹일 듯 한 김세화의 목소리가 일품이다. 겨울여자 제목으로 4개의 연주곡들이 A~D로 명명되었는데 곡들 간에 유기적인 연결보다는 독립된 연주곡들로 봐야 할 것이다. 겨울여자A는 관악과 타악으로 만들어내는 극도의 긴장감이 인상적인 곡이다. 겨울여자B와 겨울여자C는 주요테마 중 세 번째 테마로 겨울여자B는 당대 유명한 색소폰 연주자로서 정성조의 감미로운 연주를 한껏 느낄 수 있는 곡이고, 겨울여자C는 따스한 신디사이저 연주가 돋보인다. 그리고 겨울여자D는 브라스음악의 흥겨운 리듬에 흠뻑 취할 수 있는 곡이다.
2면으로 넘어가면, 본 작 최고 히트곡 중 하나인 겨울 이야기를 만날 수 있다. 이영식씨와 김세화의 혼성듀엣이 경쾌한 분위기를 자아내는 곡이다. 두 번째 곡 오늘이면은 이숙의 호소력 짙은 목소리가 김세화와는 다른, 묘한 매력을 발산하는데 뇌쇄적이고 허스키한 목소리가 가슴으로 전해지는 곡이다. 이어 등장하는 겨울여자E~H 역시 독립된 연주곡들이다. 겨울여자E는 겨울여자D에서 들려주었던 생동감 넘치는 브라스음악의 향연을 재현하며 다시 한번 어깨를 들썩이게 하는 곡이다. 겨울여자F는 눈물로 쓴 편지를 연주곡으로 변주한 곡이다. 정성조의 절제된 색소폰과 영롱한 건반이 조화를 이룬 곡이다. 겨울여자G는 익살스런 연주가 돋보인다. 겨울여자H는 1면의 겨울사랑의 연주버전인데 각 곡의 특징을 음미하며 비교 감상해보는 것은 또 하나의 즐거움이 될 것이다.
지금의 세대에게 고전영화는 깨져버린 기록과 같을 것이다. 영화가 이야기하는 서사는 지금의 가치관과 동떨어져 있고 거기에 쓰인 음악도 구시대의 유물과도 같을 것이다. 하지만 지금의 대중문화가 어느 날 갑자기 만들어진 것이 아니라 여러 세대를 거쳐 학습되고 시대정신과 화학적 결합을 통해 진화해왔다는 걸 인식한다면 과거의 것 또한 그 시대를 추억하고 지금의 세대와 공감할 수 있는 아직도 유효한 컨텐츠가 아닐까 한다. 특히 덤으로 강남개발 즈음의 옛 서울의 모습이나 옛날 대학가 앞의 풍경과 당시 대학생들의 놀이문화를 보는 것은 색다른 재미가 아닐 수 없다.
글을 쓰다 보니 본 작이 이전에 종로좌판뮤직에서 재발매한 별들의 고향 OST와 많이 닮았다는 느낌을 지울 수 없다. 남자가수를 여자가수로 바꾸고, 신디사이저 대신 색소폰이 전면에 나선 것을 빼면 곡 분위기부터 구성, 심지어 배치까지 많이 닮았다는 것을 알 수 있다. 어쩌면 '겨울여자'는 '별들의 고향'을 애초에 철저히 염두에 둔 결과물이 아닐까,하는 생각을 해본다. 그도 그럴 것이 '별들의 고향'의 관객 기록을 깬 영화가 '겨울여자'이거니와 이후 이장호와 김호선은 한국영화를 대표하는 선의의 경쟁가가 됐기 때문이다.
전설의 음반중개인 종로좌판뮤직 윤대표가 본 작의 재발매를 결정한 것 또한 이러한 포석이었음을 밝힌다. 그는 한국영화와 대중음악에 대한 애정이 지극하다. 특히 '별들의 고향'을 기점으로 당대를 풍미하는 스타배우들이 계속 등장하고 영화음악 또한 비약적으로 발전하기 시작한 시기였다. 서구사회보다는 뒤늦게 대중문화에 다양성과 복합성이 막 꽃피기 시작했고, 윤대표는 자신의 청년시기 추억을 기성세대들과는 같이 공유하고, 새로운 세대들과는 공명하기를 바란다. 앞으로도 그의 바람은 계속될 것이고, 차기작이 무엇이 될 것인지는..., 이제 여러분들의 몫이다.

She was swept through various film festivals through her 1991 film, 'Saman's Praise,' and became a great actress, emphasizing trough her acting life.
Kim Ho-sun debuted in 1974 in 'Women', and after success of 'Young Man's Era' and 'Winter Woman', he established himself as a representative director of Chung Mu-ro, along with Lee Jang-ho (Lee Jang-ho). Led. In 1981, he released his second film, “Three Shorts, Three Longs,” with Rose. He once again demonstrates his special friendship with her. Ten years later, the two resurrect again with their third breath in 'Sanit's Praise.' Kim Ho-sun has been reluctant for a while since the mid-80s, and he did not come up with such a hit. Lee also left the CRT for about five years, studied abroad in France and the United States, and resumed his activities. He met in the street and grabbed both work and performance and gave birth to the best work of both.
'Winter Woman' is a film of a novel of the same name by Cho Hae-il (hereinafter referred to as Jo Hae-il) in 1977. It was the best-selling box office, which had already sold more than 100,000 copies of the original novel, had been foreseen to some extent, but it was a huge success that attracted a lot of people hundreds of meters in front of the theater to see the march and movie being sold out every day. It set a near record, and this record was broken only after 13 years. Where the hostess films, which began as the "home of the stars," portrayed the tragic ending of the heroine who was hurt by love, "Winter Woman" drew a female figure different from the previous films. After losing her first love, which was marvelous because of her fault, not her fault, Ewha shows an active attitude in sexuality and pursues devoted love, but her view of singleism is contradictory for some reason. The patriarchy seems to be in the system in a time when it is likened to state power, but it denies the system directly in the face. Ewha is a new kind of character that never existed in Korean films, where cosmic sensuality and innocent pureness coexist. It was a coincidence that she was a perfect character because of her urban and Korean beauty doll Rose Hee.
Koh Seong-Jo Ko (hereinafter referred to as Jeong Seong-Jo) was a representative jazz saxophone player in Korea. In high school, he debuted on the stage of the Eighth Army, and participated in various competitions as 'Jung Sung Jo Modern Jazz Quartet' while studying at university. After graduation, he formed 'Jung Sung Jo and his messengers'. At the time, his music was more like fusion jazz with a pop feel than authentic jazz. You can feel in it the sound of American band Chicago or Blood Sweat & Tears. The suggestion to participate in film music during the group activities was a great opportunity to advance a step forward into the mainstream music world. That lead to the OST of the 1974 film "Rain of Yesterday". Jung Sung-jo also gained fame thanks to the theme song of the same name that Hyung-ju Yoon called. The following year, he formed a relationship with Kim Ho-sun as the OST of Young's heyday, and solidified his position in the film music scene with the winter female OST. Since then, he has been active in popular music, jazz and classical music as well as film music, reminiscent of David Foster from Canada. Unfortunately, he died of cancer in 2014.
Starting with the OST of the Stars, the film music, which began to act as an independent album, became more mature in the Winter Woman OST. Jeong Sung-jo composed all the songs and brilliantly embodied his ability to compose the melody line. The overall urban sophistication is felt. His performance is concise, but it is characterized by maximizing the effect through timely and empathy. Three major themes were used in variations, and the original novelist Jo Hae-il and screenwriter Kim Seung-ok participated in the lyrics and added the completeness of the song along with the unity of the theme. The singers Kim Se-hwa (hereinafter referred to as Kim Se-hwa) and Lee Sook-san (hereinafter referred to as Lee Sook) showed their singing ability unfortunately, and the rest of the songs are filled with songs written for the movie scene.
The first song on side 1, written in tears, is the representative song of this film. You can feel the charm of Kim Sehwa's elegant tone. This is the first theme of the main theme. Winter Song is a song that combines Kim Sehwa's soft and powerful voice with sophisticated arrangement. Winter Love A, the second theme of the main theme, is the best beauty of this work, which is a mastery that makes Kim Sehwa's beautiful scat and Jung Sung Jo's sweet performance converse with each other. Winter Love B is the voice of Kim Se-hwa, who seems to melt a hearty winter day with hot love. For today's generation, classical films will be like broken records. The narrative that the film talks about is far from the current values, and the music used there will be like an old-world relic. However, if we recognize that the popular culture of today is not suddenly created, but has evolved through generations and evolved through the spirit and chemical combinations of the past, is it still valid content to reminisce of the times and to sympathize with the present generation? do. Especially as a bonus, it is fun to see the appearance of Seoul in the early days of Gangnam development, the scenery in front of the university, and the play culture of college students at that time.
As I write, I can't erase the feeling that this work resembles the hometown OST of the stars previously re-released in Jongno Seat Music. If you change the male singer to a female singer and the sax instead of the synthesizer is on the front, you can see that it resembles the song atmosphere, composition and even layout. Perhaps 'Winter woman' is the result of thoroughly thinking of 'the hometown of stars' in the first place. This is because the movie that broke the audience record of 'Hometown of Stars' is 'Winter Woman', and since then, Lee Jang-ho and Kim Ho-sun have become the bona fide competitors representing Korean films.
It is this paving stone that legendary music broker Jongno Seat Music Yoon Dae-pyo decided to re-release this work. He is very fond of Korean movies and popular music. Particularly, it was a time when star actors who tasted the era continued to appear based on 'the hometown of stars' and movie music also began to develop dramatically. CONCLUSION:
