이은하 - Lee, Eun-Ha
Also this is a more mainstream orientated singer, with a performance-related emotionality in the voice. This is especially so in the first track, where her voice is almost broken in a smoked way. This song itself still is mainstream pop with keyboard chords, some brass arrangement and a sax solo. This emotionality is also most clear in the last track, which iswith a piano accompaniment only. Many tracks have funkier elements although not in a too creative or inventive way, oc

임성훈 / Im, Sung-Hoon / Lim Sung-Hun (< Shin Yung-Hyun & Questions)
Specific tracks you can find on: 가요(歌謠) 박물관 [Disc 8] * 11 당신은 몰라 / You do not know (1971) This track is a somewhat crooner-like ballad accompanied by (psych)rock band. Here Lim Jung Hoon's voice is coming from a combination of the Elvis Presley area and more late 60s pop inspirations (with 60s vocal harmonies) while the band clearly is more rooted in late 60s psychedelia. 이해연 - Lee Ha-Young / Lee Hae-Yeon
Track 13-19 of this compilation are dedicated to Lee Hae-Jeon. The songs seem to be inspired to be performed on stage or most likely in a movie theatre. They have a small trot and here and there Japanese influence but show creative power for having an individual voice in songs. The first track is pre-trot and is accompanied by mandolin and accordion and the usual rather subtly played humpapa rhythm. The singing here is with a slightly grotesque or better say individualised vo

손시향 - Lee Sohn
Tracks can be found on: V.A.: Music Museum 220 Best (CD Box) * CD1-4 이별의 종착역 / End of separation (1960) Lee Sohn has a warm voice in the aftermath tradition of Elvis Presley. This is a warm bluesy song with a calm and simple blues tune guitar picking lead. There’s also a country whistle tune part in it. Tracks with * I consider essential tracks to check out. Tracks that are only underlined might be of the same category. All these tracks are suitable to be heard on a western r

이규항 / Lee Gyu-Hang (Yig Yu-Hang)
You can find tracks here: 가요(歌謠) 박물관 Music Museum 220 Best CD6-2 네잎 크로바 / Four Leaf Clover (1968) This track sounds like a cowboy song with deep warm voice. First of all there's this horse walk rhythm. But we also have some arrangements of soft lush strings and electric guitar rhythms. PS. On YouTube you can only find more recent karaoke versions of this song. #KoreanPop #60s #Y #L

이양일 - Lee Yang-Sun (Yi Yang-Sun)
Tracks can be found here: 가요(歌謠) 박물관 220 Best Of (CD-box) CD4-2 행복의 샘터 / Fountain of Happiness (1964) with 박재란 / Park Jae-Ran We only have one track to get to know this singer who's voice is clearly fully adapted to trot-like singing. Here we have a duet with Park Jae-Ran who sings slow and in an idealising expression. It's the kind of TV-like colorized romantic music which makes it in fact pretty mainstream. #KoreanPop #Y #L

이남순 / Lee Nam-Sun
You can find tracks here: 유성기로 듣던 가요사 두번째(1945~1960) [Disc 4] * 4 이슬비 내리는 길 / Drizzle This is a fine tango song with fit voice and of course accordion lead and some gypsy violin improvisation. Tracks with * are considered essential tracks, also suitable for a western radio show. This album is reviewed on next page-> 가요(歌謠) 박물관 [Disc 1] * 12 아마다미아 / Amada Mia (1951) Also this track is a tango, a great song with tango drive. Lee Nam-Sun has a deep aspect in her voice which make

이난영 - Lee Nan-Young (Lee, Ran Young) / Yi Nan Young ; (-Oka Ranko-)
The first few tracks show the best of possibilities, in that Lee Nan-Young has the sort of qualities in her voice and singing that shows a certain emotion in her voice, with a distinctive sad sensitive quality. The first track is just acoustic picking, violin and voice only, which shows these qualities best. Most tracks are in Trot style with a minor old time jazz influence. The voice goes very high. A few track are in dialogue male/female voice, with some harmony singing too

이정숙 / Lee Jung-Sook / Lee Jeong-Suk
유성기로 듣던 가요사 / Songs that I heard during the musical period from 1925~1945 [Disc 1] * 4 낙화유수(落花流水) (강남달) / Fallen Blossoms Flowing Water (1929) * 6 오빠생각 / Brother (1930) In my radio show I described the 2 songs as such : "4 This track is a waltz with piano and accordion lead. The track is a bit warbled in sound, but shows a nice song. 6 The next waltz is with trumpet/brass arrangements too. Then we have the first Japanese-like melody, interpreted with a bizarre voice and sing

이정선 - Lee Jung-Sun (Lee Jeong-Sun) (Sunflower)
Psychefolk radioshow comments: "Nice professional acoustic guitar track (combination of blues with UK tradition) with singing. I need more time for total album. Also the second track has fine acoustic guitars. Other tracks are lighter pop." Folkie Jin : "Lee Seung Sun is more famous as an editor of Acoustic guitar guide book than Singer song writer by Korean people. We have to recognize his nice ability as a Singer/songwriter if you're a serious Korean folk fan. Welll he was
