Described by the traders where I found the album as sounding like Everly Brothers, this is a rather special 60s psych-pop (mostly cover) album (sung in Korean), especially because of its happy, sunshine-esque and often humoristic (if not at times slightly grotesque) approach in the vocal harmonies, including the usual pompompoms. Also the lush orchestrations to it are really attractive. A few tracks have nice fuzz guitar. A worthy album to trace !

Tracks with * I consider essential listens or classics, or tracks to check out for sure because for some reason they seem to stand out as unique moments, which makes them also very suitable for western radioshow airplay. Tracks that are only underlined can be considered fine tracks you might better check out as well, but I am not sure how essential they are.
The style area of 60s pop/rock and psych covers is an attractive one for collectors. The album is ok but looking back upon the album I must admit that most covers aren't very strong. I pretty much liked the potential of the band with vocal harmonies before this. Here this area still is growing in its potential with fine but rarely extraordinary results.

"Florist Lady" is in more late 50s style of vocal harmonies. In the second track their vocal harmonies are used for musical like effect of army publicity. The last track enters the frolic early 60s style.

봉봉(BONBON) 사중창단은 블루벨즈와 더불어 1960년대를 대표하는 보컬그룹으로,
김성진, 이계현, 김유생, 현삼열등이 오리지널 창단 멤버였으며,
활동 당시 남성적인 박력과 씩씩함을 주특기로 활기차고 코믹한 노래들을 불러
우충충했던 사회 분위기를 나름 명랑하게 만드는데 기여했다는 평가를 받기도 했다.

근데 어찌보면 죄송하지만 약간 어용의 냄새가 나는 것 같기도 하다.

I remember having a great twist in time with the Ulleungdo twist. Except for the comic "Army Kim Il Byung," it kills the vocal group's mood in the '60s. I still enjoy listening to the "Lighthouse Keeper" and "Along the Nile".

In 1968, Kim Yu-saeng and Hyun Sam-yeol left the group and Yoon-jun and Yoon Myung-hyun came in. The two said that guitar playing was outstanding at the time. This is a 1972 album featuring Bongbong's gem-like tunes that showcase the harmony of a sophisticated male choir. The locked "Rain" and "Highway" showcase the appearance of the elelected vocal group Bonbong.

"꽃집의 아가씨" 등 수많은 힛트곡을 내었던 봉봉사중창단이었다. 70년대에 들어서면서는 일렉 록 그룹으로 변신을 꾀하기도 했지만, 1974년 12월, 해체를 발표했다. 1963년에 봉봉이 최초로 결성되었으니 11년만의 해산이었다.

70년대 '청개구리', '맷돌', '해바라기', '참새를 태운 잠수함'을 비롯해 서울대 '메아리'는 국내 음악동아리의 역사에서 빠질 수 없는 이름들이다. 그렇다면 국내 최초의 음악동아리의 누구일까? 미8군 출신 가수들의 음악모임이었던 포 클로버스는 1963년에 결성된 국내 최초의 노래동아리다.
처음엔 보컬그룹결성을 염두에 두었지만 멤버들의 보컬 개성이 너무 강해 중창단결성에는 적합지 않아 노래모임을 결성해 의기투합했다.
독자적인 솔로활동으로 각자의 위치를 쌓은 멤버들은 63년 대한극장에서 열렸던 세계적인 가수 패티 페이지의 내한공연은 물론 외국의 유명가수들의 내한 때 마다 사실상 국가 대표가수의 역할을 수행했었다.
명문고, 대학출신의 엘리트가수라는 학벌프리미엄으로 유명세를 단 이 팀의 멤버는 서울대 법대 출신의 최희준, 서울대 문리대 출신의 유주용, 외국어대 출신의 박형준, 서라벌예대 출신의 위키리다. 미8군 가수들이 일반무대에 본격 진출한 1960년대 이전의 주류 대중음악은 트로트였다.
이들은 록을 도입한 신중현과 키보이스, 그리고 포크를 도입한 아리랑브라더스와 더불어 척박한 당대 대중음악계에 다양한 장르의 노래들로 60년대를 대중가요의 부흥기를 이끈 선구자들이다.
포클로버스가 태동한 당시는 전쟁의 폐허에서 막 벗어나 경제재건의 열기가 뜨거웠다. '잘살아보자'는 희망의 꽃봉오리가 국민의 마음속에 몽실몽실 돋아나던 시절은 밝고 건강한 내용의 노래가 절실했다.
미8군 클럽을 주 무대로 활약한 이들은 작곡가 손석우, 김기웅과 함께 '건전한 홈 가요의 보급으로 대중가요를 발전시켜보자'는 야망아래 뭉쳤다. 노래모임의 이름을 '네 잎 클로버'란 뜻의 '포클로버스'로 정한 것은 희망에 대한 상징이었다.
노래동아리 포 클로버스는 2장의 음반을 남겼다. 신세기 레코드에서 발매된 1964년 '포 클로버스와 본본 사중창단'과 1967년 '별빛 속의 러브레터' 다. 이 음반들은 구하기 힘든 희귀음반일 뿐 아니라 당대 최고 수준의 음악성을 담보한 명반들이다.
1집은 60년대를 남성사중창단시대로 이끌었던 봉봉사중창단의 데뷔음반이기도 하다. 총 12곡이 수록된 이 음반의 타이틀곡은 당대의 히트곡인 위키리의 '저녁 한때의 목장 풍경'이다. 1면은 포 클로버스 멤버 4명이 부른 6곡이 포진이 되어 있고 2면은 '까만 눈동자의 그 아가씨' 등 봉봉사중창단의 노래 6곡이 수록되어 있다.
냇 킹 콜의 목소리를 흉내 낸 허스키한 창법이 돋보였던 최희준은 '그리운 별아', '향수' 2곡을 불렀고 보비 다린을 빼다놓은 창법으로 대중에게 어필한 위키리(본명 이한필)는 타이틀 곡 외에 '종이배' 한 곡을 더 불렀다.
그의 데뷔곡인 '종이배'는 독특한 음색으로 인기를 끌었지만 팝송 'Love me foever'의 표절로 1967년 방송금지곡이 되었다. 멤버 중 쇼맨십이 남달랐던 그의 활동 범위는 광범위했다.
60년대 중반부터 동아방송 라디오 '달려라 위키리'의 DJ는 물론 1966년 '밤하늘의 브루스', 1968년 '폭풍의 사나이'등 여러 편의 영화에 출연한 영화배우로도 절정의 인기를 구가했다. 요절가수 배호와도 절친했던 그는 1976년 동양TV '쇼쇼쇼'의 사회자와 KBS 전국노래자랑 초대사회자로 명성을 날렸다.
한국의 프랭크 시나트라를 자처했던 혼열가수 유주용은 '그대 오시지 않네' 한 곡을 불렀다. 그는 어버이날 주제가격으로 지금도 불리어지는 1968년에 소월 시에 곡을 붙인 '부모'의 오리지널 가수다. 달변의 진행능력으로 사회자로도 유명했던 그는 미니스커트 열풍을 몰고 온 가수 윤복희의 첫 남편이기도 하다.
50년대 후반부터 60년대까지 우아한 외모와 노래로 인기가 높았던 여가수 모니카 유(본명 유인경)는 그의 둘째 누나다. 윤복희, 모니카 유는 포 클로버스 멤버들과 어울리며 함께 무대에 올라 노래를 부르기도 했다.
그는 최희준과 마찬가지로 서울대 문리대 재학시절 교내 장기자랑대회에서 노래로 1등을 차지하면서 민들레악단에 입단해 미8군 쇼 무대에 진출했다. 1961년 12월 KBS TV가 개국을 하면서 그는 사회자겸 가수로 활동하며 예명을 유주용으로 정했다.
페리 코모를 닮은 미성이 압권이었던 박형준은 '나 홀로 있어도'를 불렀다. '첫 사랑의 언덕'으로 옛 가요팬들에게 익숙한 그에게는 재미난 일화가 하나 있다.
1964년 어느 날 미군장교클럽인 국제호텔 나이트클럽(현재 KAL빌딩)에서 냇 킹 콜의 '고엽'을 노래했다. 헌데 내한공연 때문에 방한했던 진짜 냇 킹 콜이 '자신의 노래를 잘 부르는 가수가 있다'는 소문을 듣고 클럽으로 들어왔다. 이에 박형준은 당황한 나머지 노래를 중단하고 집으로 줄행랑을 쳐버렸다는 웃지 못 할 사연을 남겼다.

In the 70s, Seoul's University 'Echo', including 'tree frog', 'millstone', 'sunflower', and 'submarine carrying sparrows' are essential names in the history of Korean music clubs. Who is the first music club in Korea? Fore Klovers, a music group of singers from the US Eighth Army, was the first singing club in Korea formed in 1963.
At first, I thought about forming a vocal group, but the members' vocal personalities were so strong that they were not suitable for the formation of the midsole.
The members, who had established their positions through independent solo activities, actually played the role of national representative singer whenever they visited Korea's famous singer Patty Page, which was held at the Korea Theater in 63, as well as foreign artists.
The team is famous for being an academic elite singer from the prestigious high school and the university's elite singer. Trot was the mainstream popular music before the 1960s, when the eighth Army singers entered the general stage.
They are the pioneers who led the 60's revival of pop songs with various genres of songs in the barbaric contemporary pop music world, along with Shin-hyun, Ki-boy who introduced rock, and Arirang Brothers, who introduced folk.
At the time of Flockrobus' birth, the heat of economic reconstruction was hot just outside the ruins of war. In the days when buds of hope that 'Let's live well' emerged in the hearts of the people, songs with bright and healthy contents were desperately needed.

Song Club for Clovers left two albums. It was released in New Century Records in 1964 for Four Clovers and the Bonn Quadruple and in 1967 for Love Letter in the Starlight. These albums are not only rare records available, but they are also the best albums of the day.
The first album is also the debut album of the Bonbong Singing Company which led the 1960s to the men's quartet era. The album's title track, which contains a total of 12 songs, is Wikiri's hit evening ranch scenery. The first page contains her six songs by four Foreverse members, and the second page contains six songs by Bongbongsa.
Choe Hee-jun, who imitated Nat King Cole's voice, sang `` Old Stars '' and `` Perfume '', and Wikiri (real name Lee Han-pil), which appealed to the public with the creation of Bobby Darin, sang in addition to the title song, I sang one more song.
His debut song 'Paper Bae' became popular due to its unique tone, but it became a broadcast ban on 1967 due to the plagiarism of pop song 'Love me foever'. His activities ranged from one showmanship to another.

He is the original singer of 'Parents' who sang songs in Sowol in 1968, still called the theme price for Mother's Day. He was also famous as a moderator for his talent, and he is also the first husband of singer Yoon Bok-hee who drove the miniskirt craze.
Singer Monica Yu (real name Yoo In-kyung), who was popular with his elegant looks and songs from the late fifties to the sixties, is his second sister. Yoon Bok-hee and Monica Yu got on stage and sang along with the members of the four clovers.
Like Choi Hee-jun, he entered the Dandel Orchestra and entered the US Eighth Army show stage, winning the first prize in the long-term pride competition at Seoul National University. In December 1961, when KBS TV was launched, he acted as a moderator and singer, deciding to name Yu Ju Yong.
Park Hyung-jun, who had a great aesthetic resembling Perry Como, sang 'Even if I am alone'. Familiar with old music fans as 'the hill of first love', he has an interesting anecdote.
One day in 1964, Nat King Cole sang 'The Dead Leaves' at the International Hotel Nightclub (now KAL Building). But Nat King Cole, who visited Korea because of a performance in Korea, came to the club after hearing rumors that there was a singer who sings well. Park Hyung-joon, embarrassed, left a funny story that he stopped singing and smacked the rope home.
