홍민 - Hong Min
This is a rather good album of a singer who hangs in between a few styles, starting and returning to a folkier song and also songwriter music accompanied by acoustic and electrified guitars mostly, to a few more crooners with the inclusion of strings and flute arrangements and more humpapa rhythms (an early part on the album isn’t the most outstanding introduction, track 2,3), with a few tracks hanging a bit in between these two styles (like track 4).
Other, and especially the second half of the album we hear songs that are more clearly songwriting inspirations (6, 7 & 9). With this part the album becomes better and more original in melody and uplifts the music to a next level after the two early crooners.
The 7th happier track has strings, flute and a rock band (organ, drums, bass) with a nice poppy melody and evolution.
My favourite tracks still are the last two sadder tracks. Especially the last track with a crying slowness and with a Korean folk flavour, stand out well. On this track, an electric guitar improvises on this mode a bit while an acoustic guitar picks slowly and the voice returns with melancholy perspectives.

홍민 [석별/ 사랑을 넘치게 하리] LP 재발매!!
[석별 / 사랑을 넘치게하리]는 1974년 오아시스레코드에서 발매한 홍민의 두 번째 독집 음반이다. 수록곡 중 작곡가 정풍송의 <석별>이 크게 히트하며 <고별>과 함께 홍민의 대표곡이 되었다. 이 노래는 김건모가 2004년 발표한 9집에서 리메이크해 다시 알려졌다. 68년부터 명동과 무교동의 음악감상실에서 노래하기 시작했던 홍민은 당시 유행하던 팝송을 매력적이면서 풍부한 저음의 음색으로 불러서 많은 이들의 사랑을 받았다. 69년 팝포크락 콘테스트에서 입상하면서 본격적인 통기타 가수의 길로 접어들었으며 DJ 이종환이 운영한 라이브 클럽 쉘부르를 통해 여러 옴니버스음반에 참여했다. 1973년 첫 독집 앨범 [첫사랑 / 환희의 눈물]을 발표한 홍민은 그의 최대 히트곡이었던 《고별》과 번안곡 <망향>등이 히트하면서 큰 인기를 모았다. 그는 중저음의 매력적인 보이스는 당시 젊은이들의 마음을 사로잡았다. <고별>은 DJ 이종환이 1961년 이태리의 산레모 가요제 (Sanremo Song Festival)에서 Miranda Martino라는 여가수가 부른 《Stringiti alla Mia Mano》를 번안한 곡이며 <망향>은 원곡이 프랑스의 여가수인 미레유 마띠유 (Mireille Mathieu)가 부른 샹송 《Les Bicyclettes De Belsize (베르사이유 에서 자전거 타기)》였고, 영국의 잉글버트 험퍼딩크(elbert Humperdinck)가 영어로 번역해 불렀으며, 우리말 번안은 DJ 이종환 이 하였다. 1974년 오아시스레코드에서 발매한 이 음반에 수록한 총 12곡은 작곡가 정풍송, 김인배의 곡들과 이전의 히트곡들로 구성했다. 수록곡 중 타이틀곡 <석별>이 앨범 발매 이후 큰 반응을 얻었다. <석별>은 번안곡 <고별>과 함께 홍민의 대표곡이 되었으며 아러한 <석별>의 인기는 영화로까지 이어져 김시현 감독이 1976년 동명의 영화를 개봉했다. <석별>은 패티김의 <이별>과 함께 한국 대중가요의 대표적인 이별 노래로 평가받고 있다. 앨범의 수록곡 중 한상일의 <웨딩드레스>, 송민도의 <고향초> 등의 리메이크 곡들도 큰인기를 얻었다. LP로 재발매되는 홍민의 [석별 / 사랑을 넘치게하리]는 오아시스 레코드의 오리지널 마스터로 제작되며 300장 한정반으로 제작되며 프랑스에서 제작하였습니다.
[Seokbyul / Let Love Overflow] is Hong Min's second solo album released by Oasis Records in 1974. Among the songs included, <Seokbyul> by composer Jeong Pungsong was a huge hit and became Hongmin's representative song along with <Farewell>. This song was remade and made known again from the 9th album released by Kim Gun-mo in 2004.
Hong Min, who started singing in the music room in Myeongdong and Mugyo-dong since 1969, sang popular pop songs with an attractive and rich low-pitched tone and was loved by many. He entered the path of a full-fledged guitar singer by winning a pop folk rock contest in 1969, and participated in several omnibus albums through the live club Shelbourg, run by DJ Jong-Hwan Lee. Hong Min, who released his first solo album [First Love / Tears of Joy] in 1973, gained great popularity as his biggest hits, Farewell, and Advancements, were hits. He had a charming voice with a mid-bass, captivating the hearts of young people at the time. <Farewell> is a rendition of 《Stringiti alla Mia Mano》 sung by a female singer Miranda Martino at the Sanremo Song Festival in Italy by DJ Jong Hwan Lee in 1961. It was a chanson ``Les Bicyclettes De Belsize'' sung by (Mireille Mathieu), and English translation by Elbert Humperdinck in English, and the Korean version was performed by DJ Jong-Hwan Lee.
Released by Oasis Records in 1974, a total of 12 songs included in this album consisted of songs by composers Jeong Pung-song and Kim In-bae, as well as previous hits. Among the songs included, the title song <Seok-byul> got a big response after the album was released.
<Seokbyul> became Hongmin's representative song along with the adjunct <Farewell>, and the popularity of <Seokbyul> continued to film, and director Kim Si-hyun released a film of the same name in 1976.
<Seokbyul> is evaluated as a representative breakup song of Korean popular songs along with Patty Kim's <Parting>.
Among the songs on the album, remake songs such as Han Sang-il's <Wedding Dress> and Song Min-do's <Hometown Candle> also gained great popularity.
Hong Min's [Seokbyul / Let Love Overflow], re-released as an LP, is produced as the original master of Oasis Records, produced in a limited edition of 300, and produced in France.
