I wanted to try this new group because their style was entirely based upon ‘60’s folkpsych and acid folk from that area. And the elements are all there, in a rather clean way: like the “pa-pa-paa” harmony vocals on “Hello World”, some sitar on “Antarctic Night”, and overall duo harmony vocals with an acoustic guitar fundament. Simple and sweet-friendly. Nice.
Mr.Kwang : "This is Ssagita 1st. album [Hello World], released by Beatball. Ssagita is Korean Folk project group, which has Leader of Cocore. They are playing 1960-70's style Modern Folk, but recorded w/ recent engineering technique, so it's very good for all Folk Fans. And furthermore, this album has 2nd. disc, as Music Video DVD. It's made by Independent - low budget style, but very good one made by director of [Into the Mirror]! And it has even English Subtitles, which you could see the meaning of lyrics! Music is good, M/V is good, and director of M/V is good. Must have item for whom like to enter different side of K-music, and Modern Folk Fans."
Looking back and listening at the album I would say that "Hello World" (the song) has a certain charm trying to capture something of innocent 60s days at a time this is lost. It does no longer capture it, but has a healthy interest that with some empty feeling of melancholy looks back at it instead with a happiness of being there. It helps to add sitar in the next song, adding a psychedelic folk feel to it, compensates something. The next two songs after that with dual vocals and acoustic strums creates a dreamy feel. The acoustic song after that captures something of innocence and simplicity. "Let's Go" is a bit more up tempo and bluesy mixed with with the papapaa vocals, the least succesful formula so far. Also the next track is bit too simplistic to convince much. Another half bluesy song with the slowed down papapaa addition also becomes not so convincing as a formula, making the negative side more visible. Luckily the album ends with a different version of their more catchy song.

화살자리’라는 뜻의 싸지타(Sagitta)는 2003년 한국 대중음악상 시상식에서 ‘최우수 록 앨범상’을 수상하고, 2004년 일본 ‘후지락 페스티벌’에 초청되어 일본의 록 팬들에게 관심을 얻기도 했던, 90년대 한국 인디록씬 제 1세대이자 지금까지 꾸준히 앨범과 공연을 해오고 있는 밴드 코코어(Cocore)의 리더 이우성과, DJ Libby로, 파티 플래너로, 공연 기획자로, 그리고 디자이너로서 다방면에서 맹활약을 하고 있는 이정은이 함께 결성한 혼성 포크록 듀엣입니다. 음악을 만들면서 끊임없이, 수없이 많은 60-70년대의 포크 음악을 들었다는 이우성의 말에서 예상할 수 있듯이 60~70년대 배경의 히피 포크를 재현한 듯한 노래와, 자기 독백적이고 시적인 노랫말을 가장 미니멀한 포메이션으로 들려주는 이들의 음악은 지난 몇 해 동안 한국 대중음악 씬에서 좀처럼 볼 수 없었던 혼성 포크 듀엣을 다시 만나는 낭만적인 경험을 선사할 것입니다.
" Sagitta, meaning 'arrow', won the Best Rock Album Award at the 2003 Korean Popular Music Awards, after which they ere invited to Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in 2004 to attract attention to Japanese rock fans. Lee Woo-sung, the first generation of Korean indie rock scene in the '90s, who has been performing albums and performances so far, is active in various fields as DJ Libby, as a party planner, as a performance planner, and as a designer. Lee Jung-eun is a mixed folk rock duet.
As you can expect from Lee's words that he constantly listened to countless folk songs of the 60s and 70s while making music, the song seemed to reproduce the hippie folk of the 60s and 70s, with which the monologue and poetic lyrics were minimal. Their formation will give them a romantic experience of meeting a mixed folk duet that has been rarely seen in Korean pop scenes over the years."

“ 최근 유행하는 실험적인 디지털 사운드와는 정반대로, 그야말로 그냥 ‘노래’ 같은 앨범을 해 보고 싶었습니다. 요즘에는 어린이들이 자라면서 들을 만한 노래가 별로 없는 것 같다는 생각도 좀 들었고 특히 조카들에게 들려주고 싶은 음악을 만들어 보려는 의도에서 시작 했습니다. 밝은 분위기의 곡은 이정은을 메인 보컬로, 어두운 분위기의 곡은 저를 메인 보컬로 하여 부른 노래들이 정확히 반씩 엇갈리게 배치된 구조의 음반을 생각했습니다. 밴드 코코어의 음반을 녹음할 당시 32트랙을 훌쩍 넘어서는 레코딩 작업을 많이 하다 보니 자연스레 미니멀한 사운드의 포크가 하고 싶었고 실제로 <젤리피쉬>, <옛날 옛날에>와 같은 트랙은 단 하나의 악기만을 사용했습니다. 그 대신 중첩된 코러스 라인과 풍부한 리버브를 사용하여 사운드의 단조로움을 덜고자 했습니다. 그리고 대부분의 곡들에 스트레이트보다는 스윙 리듬을 사용하여 경쾌한 옛날 노래의 느낌을 주고 싶었습니다. 앨범을 준비하며 원하는 분위기의 곡이 나오기 전 몇 달간 60년대 포크와 팝들을 귀가 닳도록 들었었습니다. 그 중에서도 특히 <더 마마스 앤 더 파파스>, <닉 드레이크> 그리고 몇몇 켈틱 포크 클래식들은 <헬로우 월드>의 곡들에 직접적이고 강력하게 밴치마킹 되었습니다.”
“I just wanted to do an album like“ songs, ”contrary to the recent trend of experimental digital sound. Nowadays, I feel that children don't seem to have many songs to listen to, especially with the intention of making music that they want to listen with their nephews. The song with bright atmosphere was Lee Jung-eun as the main vocal and the dark song with me as the main vocal.
When I recorded the band at Cocore's record, I recorded more than 32 tracks, so I naturally wanted a minimal folk sound. We wanted to reduce the monotony of the sound by using overlapping chorus lines and rich reverb. And I wanted to give the song a cheerful old-school feel by using swing rhythm rather than straight.
In preparation for the album, I listened to the 60's folk and pop music for several months before coming to the songs I wanted. Among them, The Mamas and the Papas, Nick Drake and some Celtic Folk classics are directly and strongly benchmarked on the songs of Hello World. ”

An audio CD containing Sagitta's original songs and 10 music video DVDs directed by Kim Sung-ho (directed into a mirror in 2003) between Seoul and New York for a year were digitized sets of 2 discs. It is released as the first album of the new year.
Sagitta, which means 'arrow', is a party planner with Lee Woo-sung and DJ Libby, the leader of the band Cocore (1st "Korea Pop Music Award" Best Rock Album Award, 2004 <Fujirak Festival> Invitational Performance). This is a mixed folk rock duet formed by Lee Jung-eun, who is very active in various fields as a designer, performance planner, and designer. Songs resembling hippie folk in the sixties and seventies, and the music of their monologue and poetic words in the most minimalist form, recreate a mixed folk duet that has been rarely seen in Korean pop scenes for the past few years.
