Tracks with * I consider essential listens or classics from a western point of view of listening, as tracks to check out for sure because for some reason they seem to stand out as unique moments, which makes them also very suitable for western radio show airplay. BIOGRAPHY:
Roughly translated from Wikipedia : Lee Han-pil (李漢弼, April 1936-February 12, 2015) is a Korean singer. Herenamed himself Wicky Lee. He graduated from the Department of Theater and Film, Seorabol Art University. In 1960, he started his career at the Make in Whoopy Show, an Eighth Army show organization. In 1962 he debuted as a singer. In 1963, he worked with Choi Hee-joon, Yoo Yong-yong and Park Hyung-jun to form the first music club in Korea, Fokelovers. 'Paper Boat', 'Hidden Tears', and 'Dinner Ranch Scenery in the Evening' became a hit. Since the mid-1960s, he has been the DJ's first runner on the radio traffic information program. He starred in films such as Bruce in the night sky in 1966 and the man of the storm in 1968. In 1966, he was selected as the 1st MBC Top 10 Singer Award. [2] Since 1976 he has served as the MC for the TBC Show. Since November 9, 1980, he has been the first MC of KBS national song. In 1992, he moved to the United States and conducted the 'Good Evening Korean' on Korean TV. On February 12, 2015, he died of illness in Los Angeles, USA, at the age of 80.
