김용만 - Kim Yong-Man / 金用萬
김용만 - 힛트앨범 Recorded 1958-1966 최근입고 : 2014-05-15 This is a nice compilation of recordings from Kim Yong Man. His voice is always steering for the joy of entertainment, while moments of vibration recall the trot era; in this case it gives a happy, joyful effect. The band, with full range of sounds has elements of jazz, while it fuses styles of chachacha, mambo, boogie, trot and more. Some instruments play a few solos like with accordion and banjo, while the band’s mobility of a

김정구 - Kim Jeong-Goo / Kim Junggu / Kim Jungku
I guess this is a reissue of an original old LP (with 12 songs), containing songs that often have folk songs origins, and which show a funny marching song/working song related happy and gay nature, occasionally with also a more melancholic song. In that way the tonal and singing variation in the songs is pretty varied. The arrangements, with strings, brass instruments and more show the best kind of arrangements where in each few seconds other instruments dominate at occasions

현인 - Hyun In / Hyun-In
성인 / 트로트 [50년대~80년대] I have already listened to this double album a few times before but never came to review it. It is a double CD in the best possible Trot-based music. Hyun In not only has a good voice. The arrangements and songs give a certain highly pleasant, even frolic atmosphere. The singing is ageless with a certain vibration. The arrangements on the first CD are perfectly produced and arranged, fresh and enjoyable to a high degree, making me realise best why I like

Otherwise the song itself is mainstream styled, while the lightness and singing give it a certain feeling of originality. 도미도 베스트 컬렉션 100 VOL.1 / 50-60 Domido * CD2-16 첫사랑 맘보 / First Love Mambo "First Love Mambo" is of course differ

박재란 - Park Jae-Ran
This is one of the only releases I found that show how also the late 50s / early 60s sounded like at it’s best. The accompanying orchestra on the first 2/3rds of the album is eastern-based Hollywood-abroad ballroom entertainment that is just to a small degree comparable to the Shanghai / Hong Kong scene. You can also hear some Korean folk influence, chachacha’s, twists, waltzes and much more and a good charming voice. Some of these early recordings have electric guitar rhythm

The track is somewhat damaged in sound (sound speed ineffectiveness of the original recording but also a part with cdr-ticks ??). It makes the track already partly lost in the transfer. You can hear especially in the small instrumental part how the sound suffered from it, making it almost

Media – CD 038 2001, mentioned as coming from Yoon Il-Loh: * 2 기타부기 / Guitar Boogie (1959) * 14 "A Moody person's life" One of my first acquaintance with the artist was through this Asian restaurant music compilation, from which for me at least one of both Yun Il Ro’s track stood out very much. It is also because of its wrong accent of “boogie” for the word play of “guit

CD4 10 향항(홍콩)의 안나 / Anna of Hyanghang I never encountered this artist before, but because of the great rhythmically swinging track ("Anna of Hyanghang") I preferred to look up who she is. Unfortunately, I did not find anything about her. "Captain Madorus" is pop song with trot-influence with a vivid singing and at small parts swinging band. My favorite
